Description
The tour visits the Temple Mount, built about 2,000 years ago by King Herod. It includes the Western Wall, known as the Wailing Wall, the closest Jewish access point to the Temple Mount for the past two millennia and considered the holiest site in Judaism.
The Dome of the Rock sits on the Foundation Stone, also called the Rock, where Abraham was prepared to sacrifice Isaac according to tradition. According to the Torah, this stone was the first creation by God during the six days of creation and lies on Mount Moriah, the location of the first and second Jewish Temples.
The tour also includes the Al Aqsa Mosque, which Muslims believe is the site where Muhammad ascended to heaven and received the Quran.
