Bethlehem, Jordan River, and Dead Sea Day Tour from Jerusalem

This guided day tour from Jerusalem is ideal for travelers interested in biblical sites, natural landscapes, and relaxation at the Dead Sea.

Tour Highlights

  • Bethlehem: Manger Square and Church of the Nativity
  • Jordan River: Baptismal Site and the Dead Sea Jordan Valley region
  • Dead Sea: Private beach relaxation and local cosmetics store visit

Description

The tour begins with pickup from Jerusalem or a meeting point at Jaffa Gate. From there, you will travel to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

At the Church of the Nativity, enter through the low 'door of Humility' and explore the basilica’s golden mosaics and 30 pink limestone columns decorated by Crusaders. Beneath the church is a grotto with a Latin engraving marking the birthplace of Jesus. You will also visit the chapel of the manger and the altar of the Adoration of the Magi.

Next, the journey continues through the Judean Desert past Bedouin settlements and the Good Samaritan Inn. You will stop briefly at sea level to photograph and appreciate the desert landscape. Then, approach the Jordan River Baptismal Site (Qasr al-Yahud), where you have 30 minutes to immerse yourself in the river’s waters.

The final stop is a private beach on the Dead Sea. Here you can swim, sunbathe, and visit a Dead Sea cosmetics factory store offering creams, masks, and shampoos at factory prices. Lunch and drinks are available at nearby restaurants and beach bars.
