Description
The tour begins at the Mount of Olives, offering a panoramic view overlooking an ancient Jewish cemetery and the Old City, including the Temple Mount.
Depending on traffic, this viewpoint may be substituted with an alternative location nearby.
Next, the guide leads you through the Zion Gate towards the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations, and the Kidron Valley to view Jewish burial tombs of historic figures such as Absalom and Jehoshaphat.
Entering Jerusalem’s Old City through Zion Gate, the tour proceeds through the Armenian Quarter and the restored Byzantine Cardo, a 1,500-year-old ancient road.
The route continues to the Jewish Quarter, stopping at the Western Wall, the remaining exterior wall of the Second Temple. Visitors walk along the Via Dolorosa, tracing the path traditionally taken by Jesus carrying the cross to Golgotha (Calvary).
The tour culminates at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the recognized site of Jesus’s crucifixion and burial.
Afterward, time is allocated to explore the bazaars of the Christian and Muslim quarters before traveling to Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem, you will visit Manger Square and enter the 4th-century Church of the Nativity, the oldest continuously used Christian worship site. Beneath the church is the Grotto of the Nativity, featuring an altar commemorating the three wise men and a fourteen-point star marking the traditional birthplace of Jesus.
