Description
Begin your walking tour at Jaffa Gate, one of the Old City’s main entrances. Observe the fortified walls built by Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century that have protected Jerusalem for centuries.
Walk through the Armenian Quarter towards Mount Zion. Discover its peaceful atmosphere and visit St. James Cathedral, dedicated to James the Less, an apostle of Jesus. Learn about the Armenian community, which has lived in Jerusalem for over 1,700 years, contributing significantly to the city’s cultural fabric.
At Mount Zion, pass through the Zion Gate, once the border between Israel and Jordan from 1948 to 1967. Visit the Last Supper room, King David’s Tomb synagogue, and the German monastery of Dormition.
Continue to the Jewish Quarter, home to synagogues, yeshivas, and historic landmarks. Explore the Cardo, an ancient Roman street partially excavated and restored, offering insight into life during the Roman and Byzantine periods.
