Description
Leave Jerusalem and journey to the gorgeous green landscapes of northern Israel on a full-day tour to discover where Jesus spent his ministry going from village to village preaching and performing miracles.
Begin with a drive up the coast and through the farmlands of Israel arriving at the first stop of the day in Magdala. See the archaeological site of an ancient fishing village believed to have been inhabited during the Biblical era.
Next, visit a Second Temple era synagogue, where a coin dated 29AD was discovered in this synagogue proving that it was in use during Jesus’s lifetime and could likely have been one of the synagogues where Jesus preached during his ministry.
Taking a short drive north towards the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, reach Ginosar. Visit the Beit Yigal Allon Museum where you can see a 1st-century fishing boat that was discovered in the Sea of Galilee, which has also been carbon-dated as being from 100BC-70AD.
Continue north around the Sea of Galilee to the Mount of Beatitudes and be graced with panoramic views from the hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee, referred to in Matthew 5-7 and Luke 6 as the site of the Sermon on the Mount.
Go to Kfar Kanna or Cana, referred to in the Bible as the site of Jesus’s first miracle turning the water into wine. In Cana, you can visit the Wedding Church which commemorates this Biblical event. Admire excavated artifacts and 5th-6th century Byzantine mosaic inside the church.
After seeing the sites where Jesus spent his ministry in Galilee and Lower Galilee, travel south back to your hotel in Jerusalem.
