Muma
Jerusalem
At a glance
Muma is a restaurant, bar and event space in a preserved stone cowshed at the entrance to Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim, in the Jerusalem Hills. The historic agricultural building has been adapted into an intimate setting with a central bar, dining tables beside fireplaces, a lounge area and a broad balcony facing the surrounding green landscape.
The design combines retained elements of the old cowshed with handmade furniture, vintage finds and carefully chosen decorative details. The result is rustic without being rough, with a polished urban feel that suits a romantic dinner, a celebratory gathering or a drink at the bar. The venue also presents selected objects that are collected or made in the same distinctive style.
The kitchen serves Mediterranean chef-bistro food shaped by Jerusalem influences and the mountain region’s European-looking landscape. The menu is intended to work across several kinds of visits, from a full meal to shared plates with drinks. A family culinary story also informs the cooking, including connections to traditional Jerusalem food and the venue’s well-known gourmet interpretation of Yemeni kubane.
The drinks selection places particular emphasis on wines from boutique wineries in the Jerusalem Hills, alongside a broader alcoholic drinks menu. Music is central to the atmosphere, with a curated soundtrack and occasional live performances or DJ sets. Some musical events take place outdoors in the courtyard, adding another way to experience the venue beyond the dining room.
Muma is located a short drive from Route 1 and within walking distance of the Cramim Hotel, making it a practical stop for visitors exploring the mountain villages, wineries and rural scenery on the way to Jerusalem. The combination of preserved architecture, regional food, wine and music gives the venue a character that works for both a planned meal and a relaxed evening at the bar.
